What Shatters a Relationship?

“What shatters a relationship?” I asked.
And he just looked at me as if the answer to my question is so obvious.
I frowned.
“Is it the lack of communication?” I asked him.
“Not necessarily, but of course it is a factor,” he said.
“Hmm, along with distrust… changed of feeling… discontentment…. Why are people never contented?” I asked him.
“Because contentment is a matter of choice,” he said. “Very few people choose to be contented.”
I was silent.
If people are never contented -
They couldn't stop to yearn for more, naturally.
Demands more of the relationship than what can be given freely –
And once they do that –
Then it tarnishes love, until it becomes love no more –
For what is essential in a relationship –
What keeps it burning constantly –
Is the strong yearning to give –
