On Immortal Wounds

“Some wounds would go too deep,” he said. “That even acceptance and time cannot heal them.”
“Yes,” I agreed. “That not even silence can soothe the throbbing pain.”
“Has the world found a remedy for this?” he asked.
“No amount of remedies can cure the pain caused by looking at yourself in the mirror,” I said. “And knowing each time, that you are a fake.”
Silence.
“Not even letting go.”
